Norton Live Update
Norton Live Update has problems updating when a proxy is used. Their discussion board has a lot of articles about this problem.
The workaround is to add the 2 Norton update servers to the exception list:
- Open System Preferences
- Go to Network
- Select your active network interface, (e.g., Ethernet)
- Click Advanced... Button
- Click on the Proxies tab
- Where it says Bypass proxy settings for these Hosts & Domains, add "liveupdate.symantec.com, liveupdate.symantecliveupdate.com" to the end of your list. All entries in the list must be separated by a comma.
